With performances in over 20 countries, Katharina Wenty is one of the most successful slam poets in the German-speaking world. As a filmmaker, she has already been part of a number of short film festivals and has won the Media Literacy Award, the Zeit:impuls short film award etc. In 2018 she became the Poetry Slam State Champion for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland and was a finalist at the European Poetry Slam Championship in Budapest. Since the age of 18 she has been appearing in various anthologies and magazines, and in 2022 her own book Hautflügelmieder was published. As chairwoman of Poetry slam'md - association for stage art, literature and youth culture she regularly organizes and moderates poetry slams with an international focus in Mödling. She represents Austria in the World Poetry Slam Organization and is involved in the organization of European and World Poetry Slam Championships. She is also co-organizer, -curator and -moderator of the Art Visuals & Poetry Film Festival, the second largest poetry film festival in the world. Katharina lives and works in Vienna.

With my interdisciplinary 3-woman ensemble Lingua:Lyra (Hugo Award, winner of Playground Competition) I offer a wide variety of concert programs (including "Transformations", "Auditable") between 20 and 90 minutes.
Lyrical concert design
Whether for a cappella or instrumental performances, I write poems as a transition between compositions to address, explore, or question thematic content. These poems serve as a lyrical thread throughout the concert, for example, on topics such as environmental protection (Vocale Neuburg, JCÖ), feminism (coro siamo), or democracy (Webern Chamber Philharmonic).

Poetry Slam Workshops
From brainstorming to presentation: creative and playful writing and performance exercises are used to try out different styles and techniques in order to become aware of one's own abilities and presence and subsequently use them.
Suitable for ages 10 and up, also available in English and for people with disabilities.
